My Vision: I envision a future in which dance is an enduring and sought after art form recognized by all. We will strive to provide a stable and comprehensive infrastructure for dance creation and distribution. MainStage Academy of Dance will continue to provide creative resources to aspiring dancers of all ages. Our organization will serve as a community hub for dance-related information, leadership, advocacy, and service. Above all, MainStage Academy of Dance will nurture young talent by providing a comprehensive curriculum of professional development that facilitates fun, learning, family, and artistic growth. Leadership: Leadership is the essential element of initiative and direction that moves a group or idea forward. MainStage Academy of Dance demonstrates leadership by pro-actively addressing the needs and concerns of our participants. Communication and information are the primary tools necessary for quality decision-making and organizational success. MainStage Academy of Dance places a high priority on creating, maintaining, updating, and distributing materials that inform on a regular basis primarily through our email network and in-studio communications. Service: Service is the expression of an organization's intention through activities for, and on behalf of, its members. As a membership organization, MainStage Academy of Dance provides programs that support the fundamental interests of the organization and individuals in our membership. Collaboration: Collaboration generates synergy by bringing individuals or groups together to work cooperatively. MainStage Academy of Dance is committed to fostering and facilitating collaborations among our participants and to engage in collaborations with our peer organizations. By working with a broad range of organizations and institutions we are able to draw on strengths, expertise, and viewpoints that can together create a stronger dance community. Learning: To value learning is to acknowledge that innovation and renewal result from a willingness to explore, evaluate, and adapt. MainStage Academy of Dance is indeed a ”learning organization” by being open to new ways of practice, by integrating evaluation into our ongoing activities, and by supporting the development of our staff and leaders.
